Robin's Missing Pieces

Tara Baker - Simsbury, CT

Tara & I first met in May of 2024.  We met at a time when I was very down on my luck.  My pieces were scattered in many different places.  She, along with others picked each one of them off the floor.  Tara has given me confidence that I didn’t know I needed.  She has taught me how to become a better friend, leader & all-around person.  She is loyal, fierce & empowering to all those she encounters.  Tara is a wonderful, kind, and one of the most incredible people that I have ever met.  She inspires me every day with her grit & determination. Her kindness & love is felt every time you are around her.  She is married to her husband JL and has 2 children, both of whom bring incredible joy to me every time I see them.  All these reasons are why Tara Baker is one of my missing pieces.

Katie Dennett - Milford, CT

Katie & I first met in March of 2022. Our friendship was nearly instantaneous. She has taught me how to look on the bright side, how not to take life so seriously & how to laugh at myself. Katie has taught me how to live an authentic life without apologies. She is loyal, funny, and a beautiful person inside & out. She sees the best in me & has been there for me through thick & thin.  To have Katie in my corner is one of the greatest gifts that I have ever received. Katie is truly one of the kindest people I have ever met. She is married to her husband Tim with 3 children, all whom I have become very fond of.  All these reasons are why Katie Dennett is one of my missing pieces.

Special Olympics Connecticut Athletes

Special Olympic Connecticut Athletes are truly one of a kind.  Each Athlete has their own story and some have overcome many obstacles.  They bring me joy every time that I see them.  Being around these athletes brings out a part of me that I didn't know that I even had.  Each Athlete lives by Our Motto: "Let me Win, If I cannot win let me be brave in the attempt." They are some of the most inspirational people that I have ever met.  For these reasons Special Olympic Connecticut Athletes are some of my missing pieces.

(Below are some of our Special Olympic Connecticut Athletes)

Andie Fabian - Simsbury, CT

Andie & I met at church in 2021 when we resumed services from covid.  She was always kind & gentle; overtime we became friends.  Andie has become an important support often helping me practice lines for a play or editing one of my speeches.  She sees the best in me when I can't see it in myself.  She makes me laugh and see the optimism in every situation.  We enjoy going on Jeep rides together & swimming at our local pool.  She is kind, loyal & funny.  She is married to her husband Sam & has 3 adult children.  All of these reasons are the reasons that Andie Fabian is one of my missing pieces.

Sarah Moore - Bristol, CT

Sarah & I met at a Special Olympics Connecticut Floor Hockey tournament in February of 2019.  We became instant friends.  We enjoy playing board & card games together.  She sees the best in me & helps me with my beautiful quirks.  She teaches me not to take life so seriously.  She is a wonderful, powerful advocate for individuals with & without disabilities.  To have Sarah as my friend guarantees that you will never feel alone.  I wouldn't be the person that I am today if it wasn't for her.  We have had some of the best times together, I couldn't be more grateful for her & her family.  Sarah lives with her son, who always keeps me laughing.  All of these reasons are the reason that Sarah Moore is one of my missing pieces.

Special Olympics Connecticut Staff

Special Olympics Staff are some of the most amazing, hardworking individuals that I have ever met.  Through the good and the bad, the way they show up is always consistent.  They are loyal, kind & sacrifice so much for the athletes on a daily basis.  They are the family that I didn't know that I needed. They see the best in me when I haven't seen it in myself.   They always encourage me to do my best, and they make me laugh harder than I ever have before.  For all these reasons this is why Special Olympics Connecticut Staff are one of my missing pieces.
